About

PartSmith Co. is an American parts superstore built around one promise: the part that arrives is the part your vehicle needs. This page explains who we are, how we source and check more than 23,000 spare parts, replacement engines and accessories, and why drivers, shops and fleets across the USA order from us with confidence.

Our story

PartSmith Co. started the way most good parts businesses start, with a group of people who spent years on the tools and got tired of watching customers buy the wrong part twice. Online catalogs promised everything and verified nothing. A tail light that fit “most models” fit none of them properly. We decided the fix was not a bigger catalog, it was a stricter one.

So we built PartSmith Co. as a store where every listing carries real fitment data, every order can be verified against a VIN before it ships, and every department is curated by someone who actually understands the parts in it. Today the catalog covers more than 23,000 active listings across 15 departments, from brake pads and rotors to complete replacement engines.

What we stock

PartSmith Co. is a full line superstore, not a niche shop. The departments you will use most: Brakes, Wheels & Tires, Suspension & Steering, Engines & Motors, Electrical & Lighting, Cooling & Climate. And when the job calls for it: Exhaust & Emissions, Air Intake & Fuel, Body & Exterior, Running Boards & Towing, Hoses & Fittings, Tools & Accessories.

Inside those departments you will find three kinds of inventory. First, everyday maintenance parts such as pads, rotors, filters, hoses and lighting. Second, upgrade and appearance parts such as running boards, spoilers, intakes and LED assemblies. Third, the high value drivetrain lane: complete used and remanufactured engines with compression test results and warranty terms listed on the product page.

Every product page states what the part is, which vehicles it serves, and what our team checks before dispatch. If a listing is missing something you need to know, ask us through the contact page and a real person will answer.

How fitment checking works

About half of all parts returns in this industry happen because the part never fit the vehicle in the first place. We attack that problem before the parcel leaves the building. When you order, you can send us your VIN or your year, make and model. Our fitment team cross references the listing against manufacturer data and flags anything doubtful before the box is sealed.

This is also why our product pages carry precise application text rather than vague ranges. A hose kit for a 2011 to 2016 Sienna 3.5L is labeled exactly that way. If your vehicle sits outside the listed window, we would rather tell you before you pay than process a return after.

Quality and sourcing standards

PartSmith Co. buys from established aftermarket manufacturers and engine suppliers with track records we can audit. Parts arrive with the specifications the maker publishes, and we spot check shipments for finish, hardware completeness and packaging quality. Engines are compression tested and documented. Anything that fails inspection goes back to the supplier, not onto our shelves.

For background on how quality standards work in the aftermarket, the NHTSA equipment guidance is a useful reference, and the Car Care Council publishes plain language maintenance schedules we recommend to every customer.

The team behind the counter

PartSmith Co. is run by parts people, not a faceless marketplace. The fitment desk, the packers and the support inbox are the same small team, which is why questions get answered with part numbers instead of scripts. We publish honest stock levels, honest delivery estimates on the shipping page, and a straightforward policy on the returns page.

We are building PartSmith Co. for the long haul. That means no fake urgency timers, no invented discounts, and no gaming of reviews. Just correct parts, packed properly, shipped fast. If that matches how you like to buy, start in the shop or jump straight to your department above.

What we promise on every order

Four commitments sit under every parcel that leaves our warehouse. Accurate listings, so the specification you read is the specification you receive. A human fitment check, so a doubtful order is paused and queried rather than shipped and returned. Honest inventory, so in stock means on the shelf, not on order from a supplier. And plain language support, so you never get a scripted reply to a technical question.

These are PartSmith Co. operating rules, not marketing lines. They are the reason our return rate runs far below the aftermarket average, and the reason shops that tried us once keep sending their parts lists. When a rule is broken we make it right first and fix the process second, in that order.

A tour of the departments

The Brakes department covers pads, rotors, calipers and hydraulics with compound guidance on every pad listing. Wheels & Tires is our largest lane, thousands of listings with diameter, width, offset and load rating stated together. Suspension & Steering carries everything from single bushings to complete strut assemblies.

Engines & Motors is the high value lane, tested engines with documentation, plus mounts and swap hardware. Electrical & Lighting spans headlight assemblies to alternators, always with connector detail. Body & Exterior handles mirrors, grilles, spoilers and panel hardware with finish notes so the color story is clear before you order.

Rounding out the line: Cooling & Climate, Exhaust & Emissions, Air Intake & Fuel, Hoses & Fittings, Running Boards & Towing and Tools & Accessories. Every department page carries its own buying notes and frequently asked questions.

PartSmith Co. by the numbers

More than 23,000 active listings. Fifteen departments. Thirty vehicle families in the shop by vehicle tree, from the F-150 and Silverado to the Camry and Civic. Same day dispatch on business day orders placed before early afternoon. One fitment desk that checks every doubtful order by hand. Zero invented discounts, countdown timers or review games, because a parts store earns trust with accuracy, not theatrics.

If you are new here, start in the shop, read a guide in the guides hub, or send your VIN through the contact page and let the fitment desk do the searching for you.

Everything else about the store, from stock policy to team standards, is one message away. This about page is updated as the company grows, so check back, the story keeps moving.
